About Us
Raytown South Middle School, the district’s second middle school, opened its doors to students in 1958 serving students in grades 1-6 while school building projects were under construction around the district. Gordon Smith was the school’s first principal. At the start of the 1958-1959 school year, Raytown South Middle School originally named, Raytown South Junior High, began serving students in grades 6-9 in the southern part of the district. Throughout the years, Raytown South Middle School has been home to students in grades 6-9, 7-9, and is currently home to students in grades 6-8.
